The Docy theme gives you a solid framework for building polished knowledge base and documentation sites. When I use the FAQ component with Elementor, I usually expect a clean, interactive tab layout. One common design request is simple: keep every FAQ tab collapsed when the page loads instead of opening the first one automatically.
By default, the Docy FAQ Tabs element in Elementor is set to show the first tab in an expanded state. For many sites, that feels a little too open right away. A lot of site owners prefer a tidier layout where all FAQ items stay closed at first and visitors can open only the answers they want to read.
This behavior is built into the Docy theme’s setup so users can see content right away. At the moment, neither the standard Elementor controls nor the built-in Docy settings give you a simple switch to change this and make every tab start in a fully collapsed state.
If this is an important part of your design and you’d rather not touch code yourself, I’d suggest reaching out to the Docy support team to ask about custom help or a development quote.
So, in short: the Docy theme opens the first FAQ tab by default, and there isn’t a standard setting to keep all tabs closed on page load. If you want that behavior, custom development is the way to go. If you’re planning a code-based fix, working with someone who knows WordPress and Elementor well is probably the safest route.
