BetterDocs, a popular documentation and knowledge base WordPress plugin. The plugin comes with a lot of great features. However, today, I will introduce a few more WordPress plugins, as BetterDocs alternatives.
EazyDocs
EazyDocs assists you in quickly and easily creating great-looking documentation for your products. Site operators can create & manage detailed, hierarchical documentation in the WordPress admin. You get all the power of WordPress to create/add new docs, tags and organize with ordering your documentation. EazyDocs makes browsing and creating advanced documentation easy and user-friendly.
Top features –
Beautiful custom admin UI
A click on a parent doc reveals the children docs right away. Navigation is very easy and super intuitive. You can navigate the whole document dashboard with a few mouse clicks. You can even duplicate, edit, view or delete the docs easily. You can choose between public, private, protected even drafted docs under each documentation.

Searching Experience
EazyDocs provides a great-searching experience both on the front and the back end. In the back end, you can find your article based on keywords. A quick, helpful searching experience to find your article.
On the front-end, AJAX-powered instant search, hierarchically laid out results will give you perhaps the best searching experience you can get on a WordPress plugin.

Notifications
All the comments, positive or negative feedback from the users, are accessible by the click of only one button so that you can see, plan and upgrade the quality of your articles for your users.
You can also filter between comments only and votes only. That will give you a better overview of your articles.

Sidebars
EazyDocs document has better sidebars than BetterDocs has, two sidebars contain some super cool features. On the left sidebar, you can filter among articles and sections of the current documentation, based on keywords.
On the right sidebar, there are font size changer, a dark mode switcher, and a print button. And an autogenerated table of content, hierarchically organized to showcase headings of each section and subheadings as well.
The overall reading experience is far better than BetterDocs.
Besides all these, EazyDocs has all the major features that BetterDocs has.
Overall, EazyDocs can be considered as the best BetterDocs alternative.
Heroic Knowledge base ( HeroKB)
Heroic KB contains almost similar features on the front-end as other plugins do. But this plugin has broken many dimensions and moved ahead regarding the backend analytics feature.
So, in this article, we will skip the user-friendly and AJAX-powered front-end experience and talk about the analytics-powered back end for knowledge base creators.
In analytics, you can see the results from different time frames. For all time, for the last 12 months, for the last 30 days, one week, and most recent. This gives you a good overview of your articles’ performance.
Feedback analytics
You can see the analytics of all the feedback, all positive and negative responses in one place.
Search Analytics
Heroic KB keeps a record of the searches made by users. You can get a detailed overview of the most used keywords, the number of that keywords searched, and even null searches.
Human support Transfers
Another pressing issue for a knowledge base is human support transfer. From which article users had to be transferred for taking the support. Along with this, the rate of transfer and the total number of support transfers and recorded and stated by HeroicKb
For these backend features, and regular user end uses, I think Heroic KB can be a good alternative to BetterDocs.
Overall , we can say, Heroic KB is another lovable BetterDocs alternative plugin. If you want to get HeroicKb, you can get it from here.
WeDocs
weDocs is another free alternative for creating a knowledgebase or documentation website. This is a free WordPress plugin and currently, they don’t have a premium version of the plugin yet.

weDocs is loved by users who are mainly developers and love to customize their own website and style it better. It is a lightweight plugin, and with lightness, as usual, it comes with fewer features than other plugins out there.
On the back end, there is a grid view of the documentation and nested articles, and you can drag and drop articles to change the order of each article. Also, you can see the number of articles created.
On the front end, weDocs has a left sidebar, representing the tree structure of the document’s location and its parents.
Wedocs has a voting system, like every other documentation plugin out there, users can provide positive and negative feedback on particular articles.
Also, weDocs has a contact form attached to every article. The users can contact the admin directly anytime.
Even though weDocs is not completely giving us all the features that BetterDocs can give, but yet, it is quite good as a documentation plugin. So, this can also be a BetterDocs alternative in 2022.
